Simon Andrew Sheeran
Guitarist, composer, writer, artist
Welcome to my website where I will share my artistic creations of various kinds.

I have many artistic interests: as a musician I play guitar in many genres including jazz, alternative, rock, funk, folk, metal, and even a little country. I also compose music in many genres, and I particularly enjoy writing jazz ballads.

As a writer, I enjoy a wide variety of styles and I have written short stories, poetry, and one short novel. I am currently working on two historical fiction novels—one short and one very long.

I am a freelance copywriter who is available for contracts. I am also available for musical collaborations. Please get in touch for more information.

I additionally dabble in the visual arts. I am an amateur photographer and I enjoy drawing and painting.

In 2012 I began writing a work of historical fiction set in Sicily and environs in the 12th century, entitled The Realm Under the Sun. I have now completed the first two parts.

Since this aforementioned project is taking a very long time to finish, I recently began writing another, less ambitious historical fiction that is based on the life of a 17th century Irish highwayman, entitled The Outlaw Patrick Flemming.

Historical fiction requires a great deal of research, and I want my writing to be as accurate as possible. I invest a lot of time into studying the periods about which I write. I also like to think that my historical fiction works are more than simple adventure stories (although there is a great deal of adventure in them); they are works of literature that are inspired by such innovative writers as Jorge Luis Borges and Umberto Eco.
